In 1859, Antonio
Salviati, in love with Venice, decided to revitalize the Venetian
glass industry. He developed a new method of making mosaic with glass,
which rapidly found favor throughout the world.
He soon opened subsidiaries in New York, London, Paris, St. Petersburg
and Frankfurt. After founding a school where artists could learn glass
working techniques, the Lido di Venezia collection was created.
Offering fine crystal for the table and everyday use, Salviati’s
lively spirit is apparent in every incision, contour and shape. Each
glass, be it martini, wine, or champagne, is crafted in the Salviati
tradition of exceptional beauty and sophisticated style. |
